Specialist Foot Health Treatments
Toenail Reconstruction
- Toenail reconstruction is a specialised treatment for nails that have been damaged, thickened, fungal or even missing completely. Belinda uses a product called PediSafe which is a two-part system that uses a rubber base layer to prevent any damage to the existing nail and a strong resin as a top layer.
- The procedure can be used in conjunction with other treatments if treating fungal infections within the nails.
- The reconstructed toenail will look and feel like a natural nail. It can be cut, filed, and left to look natural or a nail colour can be applied on top.
- There is an additional charge for additional nails to be reconstructed.
- Nail colour application can be added to this treatment – please ensure to request this at time of booking. Belinda carries a small range of colours, please ask for details.
- Please note: DO NOT SHOWER/ BATH YOUR FEET THE DAY OF YOUR APPOINTMENT. Excess moisture under the nail plate may result in reconstruction not being applied at the appointment.
- Costs (includes nail preparation)
- One Reconstructed Nail – £75
- Additional Large Toenail – £40
- Additional Small Toenail – £20
Fungal Nails (Assessment)
- At your fungal nail assessment, Belinda will first perform an in-house Dermatophyte test to ensure that there is a fungal nail infection causing the problem. While performing the test on the toenail clippings, Belinda will tidy the nail and surrounding skin. If we attain a positive result, Belinda will discuss with you the best treatment method depending on the severity of the fungal nail infection and an ongoing treatment plan will be put in place with future appointments to commence treatment arranged.

- Fungal Nail Treatment Options
- Belinda offers a range of fungal nail treatment options depending on the severity of the infection, these include:
- Topical Treatments, The Lacuna Method, Toenail Reconstruction (for a temporary prosethic cover-up), Referral for Toenail Surgery to a trusted Podiatrist, Referral For Prescribed Oral Fungal Medication
- Find out more about Belinda’s Fungal Nail treatment options below:
- The Lacuna Method is a very effective method of treatment. This involves drilling tiny pin-sized holes into the infected nail plate. This allows the fungal treatment to access the nail bed where the fungal infection is present and actively destroy it.
- Topical Treatments – Depending on the severity of the fungal nail infection, a topical treatment could be the best option. The topical treatment will need to be repeatedly applied to the infected nail.
- Nail Reconstruction is a specialised treatment to be used while treating damaged, thickened or fungal nails. The reconstructed prosethic nail will look and feel just like the natural nail and will give the nail a healthy appearance as a temporary measure while you are treating the fungal nail using other methods. It can also be cut, filed and painted or left to look natural.
- Costs
- Fungal Nail Assessment/Test – £100
- Lacuna Method Single Treatment – £100
- Lacuna Method 6 month Treatment Plan (4 treatments) – £300
- Abicin Nail Lacquer – £20
Verrucae
- At your verrucae assessment, Belinda will confirm if you have a verruca, and discuss treatment options. Belinda will also reduce the verruca making it more comfortable for you and allow you to decide your best treatment options. If treatment with Belinda is agreed a further appointment will be made to commence treatment protocol.

- The main treatment option that Belinda offers is Verrutop
- How Effective is Verrutop?
- As with all treatment for a verruca, there is no guarantee of success. Verrutop is shown to have a higher than 70% success rate. However, anecdotally, it seems to be more successful than other treatment methods. This is likely due in part to ease of use and the simplicity of the treatment as more patients adhere to the ongoing management
- How Many Treatments Will It Take?
- The average number of treatments required is 3. As with any treatment, this will vary. Many require only 1 or 2 treatments but for a large, stubborn verruca, as many as 6 treatments may be required. It is important to note, however, that there is a small percentage of people for whom it will have no effect.
- What Should I Expect At My First Treatment?
- Before any Verructop treatments take place, Belinda will dicuss with you the treatment process to ensure you are happy with how it will all take place.
- How Many Verrucae Can Be Treated With One Ampoule?
- The size of the verruca will determine how many verrucae can be treated with a single ampoule. However, for average sized verrucae, approximately 3 can be treated.
- Verrucae Assessment Cost Only – £62
- Verrutop Treatment Costs
- Individual Treatment – £70 (Incl x1 ampoule)
- Block of 3 Treatments – £195 (Incl x1 ampoule per treatment)
- Block of 6 Treatments – £372 (Incl x1 ampoule per treatment)
- Each additional ampoule £25
